BY-LAWS

Article 1 – Name
The name of this organization shall be Camarillo Cosmos Youth Track Team.

Article 2 – Definitions
a. CCYTT refers to the Camarillo Cosmos Youth Track Team.
b. VCYTC refers to the Ventura County Youth Track Conference, Inc.
c. Youth refers to boys and girls between the ages of five and fifteen at the beginning of the competition year, which comprise the age groups served by this organization.
d. Competition year refers to the calendar year. The competition year begins on January First and ends on December Thirty-First of each year.
e. Meeting refers to any gathering of CCYTT board members for the purpose of conducting business where a quorum of no less than four (4) members be present and all members have been notified of the date, time, and location of the gathering.

Article 3 – Purpose
The purpose of the CCYTT is to act as the governing body for said track team and shall :
a. Develop interest and participation of Camarillo area Youth in the sport of track and field.
b. Host local track and field competitions in accordance with the VCYTC Rule Book.
c. Provide and coordinate technical information on physical training, coaching, competition, and performance among the member youth and parents.

Article 4 – Membership
a. CCYTT is one of several community teams that are members of the VCYTC, a public benefit non-profit corporation under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
b. CCYTT draws its members from the Camarillo area.
c. Team membership is open to all Youth capable of participating in Track & Field, having the permission of their parent(s)/guardian(s), and agreeing to abide by these by-law and the VCTYC rulebook.
d. The age range of participants is generally Kindergarten through Eighth grade, or as specified in the VCYTC Rule Book.

Article 5 – Organization
a. All parents and guardians of current team members are considered voting members of the CCYTT Board.
b. Annually the CCYTT Board shall elect the following officers from among its members:
       President – shall plan and chair CCYTT Board meetings, and, along with the Board, shall coordinate all CCYTT activities.
       Vice-President – shall assist the president, and, serve in the president’s absence.
       Secretary – shall maintain a record of all CCYTT Board decisions.
       Treasurer – shall maintain all financial records of the CCYTT, shall arrange for payment of debts approved by the CCYTT Board, and shall prepare an annual financial statement.
c. The CCYTT Board shall meet each month, except July and August. Notification of the date, time, and location of the meeting to all board members shall be by posting on the CCYTT web site (http://www.cosmostrack.org), and/or by mail.
The CCYTT Board may also meet at other times, with appropriate notification.
d. No CCYTT Board member shall be paid for services performed. Reimbursement for expenses incurred on behalf of the CCYTT shall be paid from the treasury upon approval of the Board.

Article 6 – Amendment Procedure
Amendments to these by-laws may be made at any meeting of the CCYTT Board by a two-thirds vote of the members present.
