Track Meets:
There will be six dual or tri meets on Saturday's, followed by the JuniorVarsity, and Varsity Finals meets in early May.

The Running Events are:
100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m (mile), and for the older children 3200m and 100m Hurdles
Also there are Relay events : 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m

The Field Events are:
Long Jump (for all ages), High Jump and Shot Put for children born before 2002

* The VCYTC rules require participants be born before 1/1/2004.  However, Cosmos makes an allowance for children in Kindergarten born in 2004. They can train with the team and be in the 3 Home Meets , and their fee is lower.

** The VCYTC rules allow Ninth graders who do not attend a school with a CIF track team to participate

Just like all youth organizations, the Cosmos Track Team Runs on  Plenty of Parent Participation

Plenty of Positions for Parent Participation -

Coaches:
Coaches and assistant coaches are needed for each age/gender group.
Experience is nice, but not necessary.
The experienced coaches will help train and teach the new ones.

Specialty Coaches:
Coaches are also needed for the field events, hurdles, and other specialities.

Team Parents:
Similar tasks as with other youth sports teams.

Track Meets:
At track meets the children run, but the track meet itself runs on Parent Participation.
The track meet tasks include:   Timers, Record Keepers, Starter, Crews to operate the Field Events, Crews for Setting Up before the meet and Putting Away after the meet, and LOTS MORE.

Board Members:
Parents to participate behind the scenes to besure all the children have a great season.
